Etisalat Afghanistan Representatives Visit GOC-UZ
On April 15, 2025, a delegation from Etisalat Afghanistan, a wholly owned subsidiary of Etisalat UAE, paid an official visit to the production facilities of Global Optical Communication Uzbekistan (GOC-UZ), located in the “Jizzakh” Free Economic Zone.




The visit was aimed at exploring potential avenues of cooperation between the two organizations, particularly in the field of fiber-optic cable supply. During the visit, Etisalat Afghanistan representatives were introduced to GOC-UZ’s advanced production capabilities, including the full-cycle manufacturing process of various types of optical fiber communication cables.
GOC-UZ, a joint venture established with the participation of Uzbektelecom JSC and leading South Korean partners, specializes in the production of over 50,000 km of fiber-optic cables annually. The enterprise plays a vital role in supporting digital infrastructure development both within Uzbekistan and across the region.

The discussions between GOC-UZ and Etisalat Afghanistan focused on opportunities for supplying high-quality optical fiber cables to support the growing telecommunications infrastructure in Afghanistan. Both parties expressed interest in establishing a long-term partnership that aligns with their mutual goals of expanding connectivity and accelerating digital transformation in the region.
